abstract

  • In this paper a hybrid shape fractal microstrip patch antenna is presented which use FR-4 substrate having thickness of 2.4mm. Coaxial probe feed is used in this antenna. Fractal geometry is used for multiband behavior. In order to achieve wideband characteristics, defected ground structure technique (DGS) is applied. The antenna resonates at 5.2GHz, 5.6GHz, 6.3GHz and 7.6GHz with bandwidth 705MHz, 200MHz, 350MHz and 200MHz at corresponding frequencies. Simulation is carried out using IE3D software. Electrical parameters of antenna like return loss, gain, VSWR etc are investigated.
