In this work, a novel target detection method is introduced for airborne radar with misaligned antenna array. The proximity feature of non-linear clutter ridge is extracted from the radar echo data via minimum variance (MV) method in the angle-Doppler domain. Subsequently, the feature is applied to distinguish target from the clutter. The proposed technique recognizes and detects target from ellipse shaped clutter due to velocity misalignment. The effectiveness of this approach has been proven with the simulation results.
