abstract

  • This paper deals with the fossil contents and correlation of the Domodedovo and Las Llacerias sections, two Carboniferous carbonate successions situated in the Moscow Basin and the Cantabrian Mountains, respectively. The stratigraphic interval analysed in both sections embraces the uppermost Moscovian and the lower Kasimovian. This is the interval dealt with by a group of specialists, involved in Project 5 of the I. U. G. S. Subcommission on Carboniferous Stratigraphy, which searches for a correlatable horizon of worldwide application at the approximate level of the Moscovian/Kasimovian boundary.
