abstract

  • The synthesis of new nanoparticle photocatalysts based on B, Al, Ga, and In doped titanium dioxide by a modified aero-gel procedure was presented. The photocatalytic activity of the synthesized catalysts was examined for the photodegradation of acetaldehyde, trichloroethylene, and CO under UV light irradiation. The empirical results revealed an exciting prospect of Ga and In doped TiO2 photocatalysts as good candidates for effective and efficient environmental remediation compared to Degussa P25. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the AIChE Annual Meeting (Salt Lake, UT 11/4-9/2007).
