abstract

  • A team approach combining the skills of obstetrician, internist, and surgeon is required to optimize care for both woman and fetus if an acute surgical event should occur. A well-prepared team can save many pregnancies and reduce both maternal and fetal risk. The challenge of this dual-patient event is a special one to physicians.
