abstract

  • As an animal player in this game, your ultimate goal is to produce the most offspring. As a student in this course, your goal in playing this game is to figure out and apply the smartest biologically realistic strategies you can think of to outsmart and outcompete your opponents in the Darwinian game of life. Master the game as a solo player, and then use your knowledge of animal behavior to devise social strategies that will beat the less imaginative soloists. Lessons from studies of cooperation, reciprocal altruism, and kin selection can all be put into play in this game.
