Jindal Vijayanagar Steel Limited has installed a 1.6 mtpa greenfield integrated steel plant based on Corex ironmaking process, so far the only process commercially developed as an alternative to blast furnace. In last three years of operation, JVSL has successfully exploited the Corex process to achieve the best performance as compared to other units elsewhere. Superior quality of hot metal from Corex has helped JVSL to produce best quality of steel with high yield. Further, the integrated approach adopted by JVSL along with joint venture companies would pave the way for JVSL to become the lowest cost steel producer, in near future.
