  • A new technique of mapping shorelines is described. This automated procedure, termed metric mapping, involves an analytic treatment of photogrammetry which is based on mathematical models. Computer-plotted maps, which meet or exceed National Map Accuracy Standards, along with associated histograms and statistics are the final products.
