abstract

  • Forensic chemistry is very similar to analytical chemistry but it differs in several ways, one of which is where its samples come from and how to accurately interpret those samples particularly when trying to determine if they have come from the same source. This chapter discusses fundamental factors, including supply chains, the comparative process, and sampling, that may affect interpretation of forensic chemistry samples.
