abstract

  • Previous efforts to estimate reference evapotranspiration (ETo) for hydrologic modeling in South Florida have been limited due to the lack of distributed meteorological data for long periods of simulation required for modeling. Recent advances in global and regional atmospheric reanalysis and regional surface hydrologic data assimilation have allowed for the generation of comprehensive climate datasets that can now be used to estimate long-term ETo. Three such datasets were evaluated and the results of such evaluation are presented here. © 2007 ASCE.
