abstract

  • Each developmental stage may impose differing challenges for the family who has a child with attention deficity hyperactivity disorder. This discussion uses theoretic developmental frameworks to highlight difficulties that may be experienced by these children and their families at each stage of development. These developmental frameworks provide a perspective for assessment and interventions by nurse practitioners who are interacting with children who have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and their families in home, school, and health service settings. © 1995 National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates & Practitioners.
