abstract
Wideband antennas that can operate over a frequency range from 10's of MHz up to several GHz is highly desirable, yet a challenge [1-2]. As expected, a major challenge is to keep the size small while maintaining bandwidth. Another and key challenge is the need for a ground plane that does not deteriorate the UWB performance for conformal installations [2]. This paper is based on the design of an UWB ground plane using commercially available ferrite layer coating. © 2008 IEEE.
