abstract

  • This study is an exploration of the proposition that thick layers of material may be modeled as stacks of thin sheets, an idea previously verified for thin dielectric strips. The authors concentrate on the finite sheet or plate composed of any or all of the constitutive parameters epsilon , sigma and mu . They are concerned with the formulation of the conjugate-gradient-FFT method for computing the scattered field by material plates of arbitrary composition. Computed backscattering cross sections are shown.
