abstract

  • An analysis is presented of the problem of H-polarization diffraction and radiation by a parallel plate open-ended waveguide loaded with an extended ferrite slab. This geometry is of interest because in the context of the generalized scattering matrix formulation it forms a canonical structure for examining the scattering or radiation associated with a number of configurations. This include the thick isolated or grounded metallic/dielectric join and a waveguide with loading having discontinuous dielectric properties. The dual integral equation approach (or angular spectrum method) is used to determine the diffraction, coupling, radiation, and reflection coefficients associated with the ferrite slab configuration.
