abstract
The availability of Graphical User Interfaces, on current PC and workstation facilities, provide us with simpler, visual methods for entering the geometry and displaying the output. Future electromagnetics-analysis software is likely to be judged not only by its computational efficiency and adaptability, but also by its user interface. This issue’s contribution is by Atef Z. Elsherbeni and Clayborne D. Taylor, Jr., of the University of Mississippi. They describe the graphical interface and utility of a two-dimensional scattering program. The GUI is written for a PC, and the formulation is based on using a collection of small circular cylinders to approximate the metallic or dielectric scatterer. Please call Prof Elsherbeni directly concerning the availability of the software (Electrical Engineering Department, University of Mississippi, Tel: (601) 232-5382; Fax: (601) 232-7231). I invite you to submit other contributions describing computer programs, software validation, and efficient numerical routines, of potential interest to our readers. 1045-9243/93/$03,00. © 1993 IEEE.
