Experimental observation of supression of two-photon absorption by quantum interference was reported. Suppression of the two photon absorption in cold 87Rb atoms was observed. It was shown reported that in contrast to the enhancement of nonlinear susceptibilities by constructive quantum interference, electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) might led to the suppression of certain nonlinear susceptibilities.
