  • Some probability distributions have been proposed to fit real life data with bathtub-shaped failure rates. In this article, a new two-parameter lifetime distribution is given. The distribution has increasing or bathtub-shaped failure rate function. Exact confidence intervals and exact joint confidence regions for the parameters are discussed based on type-II censored samples. © 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
