abstract

  • The normal and student's t distributions have been extensively used by many researchers since their discoveries. This paper studied some new symmetric student's t-type distributions and their properties by taking the product of a normal distribution pdf and a student's t distribution pdf. It is observed that the new distributions are symmetric and carry most of the properties of symmetric distributions. Some characteristics of the new distributions are presented. The entropy expression has been given. © 2009 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
