abstract

  • We have analyzed a commercially developed large scale software system to study the effect of external and internal interfaces on the actual development effort and the number of errors detected in the maintenance phase. Statistical analysis shows that error count is best predicted by the complexity of internal interfaces while the actual effort is very closely related to the external interfaces.
