The caves of Jacksons Bay comprise over 7km of fossil phreatic passage in the Miocene limestones of southern Jamaica. The caves are at shallow depth, some close to sea-level, and much of the passage is of large size linking several collapse entrances. Two superimposed systems are discernible. The caves were probably formed between 700 000 and 200 000 years ago. -from Authors
