abstract
In a time when approximately 50% of marriages end in divorce, a closer examination of the components of a satisfied marital relationship seems warranted. Research will evidence that factors such as intimacy, spousal support, stress, children, finances and length of relationship may affect a spouse's level of satisfaction in a marriage. Further, there are characteristics of both partners separately and together that influence the level of satisfaction. Finally, the authors will explore the role culture plays in determining how satisfied one is in marriage. © 2012 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved.
