biography

  • Dr. Adrienne von Lates received her Master‘s and Ph.D. degrees in Art History from Columbia University, where she specialized in Renaissance and Baroque art, with a minor in Contemporary art. She is internationally recognized for her scholarship on the Italian painter Caravaggio, and is completing a book, “Caravaggio’s Visual Wit.” Dr. von Lates has written articles on a variety of art topics and has over 25 years of experience as a university professor, having been on the faculties of Columbia, the University of California, San Diego, FIU, New World School of the Arts, and the University of Miami. She has also been a Curator and Director of Education at MOCA North Miami and the Bass Museum of Art
