1. Dr. Patel joined Florida International University (FIU) as a faculty member in the Department of Medical Education at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM). In this role, he instructs in lab medicine, clinical skills, and the integration of clinical medicine concepts within the MPAS program. His expertise in simulation and diverse teaching pedagogies is particularly noteworthy. Dr. Patel embarked on his medical career in 1993, completing his residency in anesthesiology in 2004. He then began working as a freelance consultant anesthesiologist. His academic career commenced in 2007, when he served as a clinical faculty member and visiting professor at a prestigious cardiology center in India. After nearly two decades in this clinical faculty role, he transitioned to teaching pre-clinical courses at Caribbean medical schools in 2019.
research interests
Integration of simulation in medical education and combination of various teaching pedagogies for a best outcome in medical education. In addition he is interested in AI intigration in various health aspects including medical education.
