Jose M. Martinez Elejalde, M.D., FACC, FACP, HCMBA, served as a medical director for Physicians Corporation of America and later as director of Med Partners/Inphynet Medical Management’s South Florida Tri-county Cardiology Network. He also served as medical director for the Florida Blue Health Options post-discharge heart failure management program. Martinez served as chief of the Department of Cardiology at Mercy Hospital from 2003 to 2004. In 2007, he joined the PHT-Jackson Health System as quality director for physicians services administration and medical director of the Jackson Medical Group Multi-Specialty Clinic. In 2010, he was named chief medical director for the Jackson Health Plan HMO. As chair of the South Florida Community Care Network Quality Committee, Martinez had oversight of the quality of care provided to the SFCCN–PSN two-county safety net Medicaid populations. From 2014 to 2016 he served as chief medical officer of the Hospital Corporation of America, East Florida Division.
