Dr. Li Ma is Teaching Professor of Chinese in the Modern Languages Department. She also serves as the Chinese program coordinator, FIU Chinese Club advisor, annual FIU Chinese New Year Gala organizer, and Summer Study Abroad Faculty Director. She has mentored Asian Studies M.A. students, advised master’s theses, and supervised Foreign Language Teaching Assistants from Beijing, Xi’an, and Taiwan.
Dr. Ma has taught all levels of Chinese courses (levels 1-4, Intermediate Conversation, and Business Chinese). In recently years she also expanded her course offering to include Self Cultivation in China, and History of Women in Asia. She is fully certified to teach hybrid and online courses. She's also a Global Learning Distinguished Faculty.
A longtime member of ACTFL, Dr. Ma has held leadership roles with Chinese Language Teacher Association - FL Chapter (CLTA-FL), including Vice President, President, and Advisory Board member.
