Dr. Julie Kantor is a highly accomplished pediatrician and educator with over two decades of experience. She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Associate Clerkship Director of Pediatrics and Vice Chair of Education in the Department of Pediatrics at Florida International University's Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Kantor's extensive career includes her continued practice as a Pediatrician in the Emergency Department at Nicklaus Childrenâs Hospital. She has also previously served as Associate Medical Director of Quality Improvement at Nicklaus Childrenâs Hospital. She holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami School of Medicine and is board-certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Kantor is actively involved in professional organizations such as the Dade County Medical Association where she serves on the Executive Board as Secretary/Treasurer and the Florida Medical Association where she is a House of Delegates Representative. Most recently she was in Tallahassee meeting with lawmakers on issues advocating for patient rights and the quality of medicine that doctors are able practice. She has received numerous awards for her contributions, including the Excellence in Teaching Award from FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Kantor is dedicated to medical student education, curriculum development, and scholarly activities. Outside of her professional duties, she is engaged in service and volunteer activities, demonstrating her commitment to community health and advocacy.
