biography

  • Dr. Zeidan Hammad is board certified in Family Medicine. In 2007, he began his career in medicine in the United States after completing his residency. Previous to that, Dr. Hammad was attending physician in the Emergency Department at Dallaa' Hospital in Saida, Lebanon. He then joined the Department of Internal Medicine and Nephrology at the University Hospital of Tokoin-Lome Togo, West Africa as an attending physician and assistant professor. As a resident in Nephrology, Dr. Hammad conducted research on the role of fine needle aspiration biopsy in the diagnosis of acute rejection of renal allograft. Prior to joining Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in October 2011, Dr. Hammad worked in CAC-Florida Medical Centers and the Baptist Urgent Care Centers of Miami. He leads the telemedicine initiative for the department and assists with the geriatric curriculum.
