Prior to joining Florida International University, Ms. Gelman was an attorney specializing in estate planning and federal tax law and also represented lenders in mortgage foreclosure proceedings. She has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1993. Ms. Gelman is co-author of La Debacle Enron/Anderson (2002-03, InterAmerica).
Ms. Gelman teaches both in the traditional classroom and in the colleges Department of Online Learning. She has developed and taught numerous online and web-assisted courses in the areas of domestic and international business law and, most recently, has developed a course in federal tax. She is currently the faculty team leader for CBAs Early Bird BBA Program. In additional to her regular courses for undergraduates, she has taught in FIUs Global Executive MBA Program and its Master of International Business Program. She is a member of CBAs Online Learning Task Force.
In 2002, Ms. Gelman was given an award for Most Innovating and Inspiring Teacher by FIUs Global Executive MBA program.
