Dr. Colaco got his Ph. D. In Structural Engineering from the Univ. of Illinois in 1965. Since then, his Professional Life has been involved in the design of Tall Buildings. Some of the projects he has worked on are the 100 story John Hancock Centre in Chicago, the 75 story J.P. Morgan Chase Tower in Houston (currently the tallest Composite Building in the USA), and the 50 story One Shell Plaza in Houston (currently the tallest Lightweight Concrete Building in the world). He also did the Peer Review of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, currently the tallest building in the world. Dr. Colaco has taught at Univ. Of Illinois, Chicago, IIT Chicago and Rice Univ. Houston. He is currently teaching at FIU, Miami and Univ. Of Houston. He has been involved in Committee work and Research. He has co-authored a book on Composite Buildings and published many papers in Engineering Journals. He is a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute and was elected to the National Academy of Engineering.
