biography

  • Luis Carcache, MD has extensive experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Carcache is Board Certified in General Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and is an Assistant Professor at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Carcache earned a BS in Chemistry from FIU and then completed his medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He did his residency training in general psychiatry as well as his fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Miami. He joined the faculty following his fellowship training where his main interest of study was in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). He currently teaches and supervises medical students at FIU during their psychiatric clerkship. He provides psychiatric services at FIU Health treating adults, children, and adolescents with a wide variety of psychiatric conditions. He also provides psychiatric care for the FIU Health EMBRACE program, a comprehensive and integrated clinical and training program dedicated to providing medical and behavioral health care to adults with ASD and neurodevelopmental disorders.
