Pietro A. Bianchi joined the School of Accounting in 2019. He previously served as an assistant professor at the University of South Florida and the University of Miami, where he taught cost accounting and intermediate accounting. Pietro earned his Ph.D. from IE Business School (Spain). Pietro’s research interests include auditing, corporate governance, social network analysis and financial reporting for private firms with an international flavor. His research has been presented in multiple national and international conferences. Pietro’s research is published in top accounting journals including The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, European Accounting Review, and Journal of American Taxation Association. He is the recipient of multiple research and teaching awards. Pietro serves in the editorial board of some prominent accounting journals including Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory and Journal of Accounting and Public Policy. Before joining academia, he worked in some accounting firms in Milan. He is licensed Chartered Accountant and Statutory Auditor in Italy.
